Since it was a thin white veneer, it was pretty obvious. Unfortunately, it had a big gouge on the edge of the table. After one month, Both chairs broke and fell apart. There are four screws that secure the seat top to the chair itself. It was actually fun to put together with the 'help ' of a 2 year old She loves this desk and chairs. The craftsmanship for the price is outstanding.

The screws are 8x2 ', but should really be 8x2 1/4 ', which is a rare size. Being used by a 4 y-o average weight toddler. I just read that warning on this table and it can cause cancer.

Got it almost together, but was sent the wrong screws for the chairs, Uggh. The white color makes it nice for boys or girls. Super cute but the table had shipping damage in one corner.
